How to change location of My Documents ?

Anyone know how to relocate all the user documents for each account on Win
XP Pro ?

I have just set up my OS and Programmes on a 40G drive, but want all the "my
docs" stuff on another 120G drive that I have ( They are actually already on
there - the 120G drive had the older install of XP on it, along with all the
data). The reason for this is that I have a lot of digital video and
photography and want to keep the OS drive clean and fast.

However, I also want the "my pictures" and "my documents" sections of the
Start menu to actually direct me to the right directories - not the newly
installed ones on the OS drive.

While I'm at it, is there any easy way to copy all the installed programmes
back from the 120G drive to the 40G drive without causing problems, or is it
a case of re-install everything then delete the old "Programmes" folder from
the bigger drive ?

You might try the following:

1) Create a partition in the 120G drive for "My Documents"
(Partition Magic might work)

2) Migrate your existing "My Documents" to the new partition
by doing the right-click, Properties, etc.

3) Use Partition Magic to copy the boot partition of the 120G
drive to the 40G drive (obviously, you would need to make
sure that 40G was enough space).

I haven't used Partition Magic, but I think you're able to resize and
move partitions pretty easily with it...

1.) Right-click My Documents|Properties|Target|Move

2.) Uninstall/ reinstall is the only practical way.
