How to change DNS properties without logging in?

Hey guys,

I thinks somehow the DNS properties of my win2000 machine is screwed
up and it is not letting me logging in even as local computer. I
installed parallel OS in another drive, which works fine. Is there
anyway I can change the DNS properties of my source OS (either using
this new parallel OS or any other means) to enable me to login?

You tried logging in locally by using the local credentials as well?
What is the exact error message? If the computer is running, you could
try to remote in and manage the machine with Remote Desktop etc...

DNS settings should have no effect over your ability to log in
locally to the machine with a machine local (non-domain) account.

You can set Tcp/Ip config, including DNS settings, using a script
that accesses that machine remotely via WMI.
With your parallel install you could mount the registry of the
primary install, edit the Tcp/Ip reg values _carefully_, dismount
that registry file, and then try booting the primary system.

However, DNS really should not have anything to do with your
ability to log in with a local account.
