How do I change the file name where my mail is directed to? It is now going
to Personal Folders (1).pst. I want to revert back to Personal Folders.pst

Depends on your Outlook version, which you elected to keep secret.

Go into accounts and change the message store selected for "Deliver
new mails to".

If the file is now Personal Folders(1).pst. This would seem to suggest that
Personal Folders.pst currently exists. I would start by going to File > Open
Outlook Data file. A FileOpen window will appear to which you will need to
browse to where the Personal Folders.pst file is located. If you don't know
where this is just do a Search for it. Add it into your Folders list and
transfer all your email across to it from your Personal Folders(1).pst. Then
just close the pst file after you have moved all files across. If you have
no further use for this file just delete it. If you cannot find your
Personal Folders.pst file and you had nothing in it previously, choose a
location during the FileOpen window and simply type the name you wish to use.
A new pst file will be created using this name you have just created whether
it be Personal Folders or Blue Monkey.pst :)

Are you suggesting that all I need to do is to delete the Personal
Folders(1).pst file and then Outlook will revert to the Personal Folders.pst
file? Can I just delete the file in the explorer files list window?

Outlook 2000

You neglect to say which mode, Internet Mail Only or Corporate/Workgroup,
you're using. WIth Outlook 2000 (and Outlook 98, for that matter), you
should always include that information when posting.

For IMO mode, select the PST you want to be the delivery location. Click
File>Properties. You'll be able to select that PST as the delivery location
there. Stop and restart Outlook.

For CW mode, Click Tools>Sevices. There should be a Delivery tab on which
you can select the PST you wish to be your delivery location. Specify it,
then stop and restart Outlook.

Man, I am nervous about just deleting the Personal Folders(1).pst file.

Everyone seems to suggest that I can change the .pst file that I direct mail
to. But I cannot find it - maybe its not a choice in Outlook 2000 in IMO
mode.

I read the artical you attached. Problem is the when I do File / Open, I do
not get the option to open Outlook Data File. I only have choice to open
Personal Folders File.

I've managed to fake out the email side of the system by customizing the
outlook bar to display the emails in different files. Problem now is that
when I create a new email, it looks for the contact list from Personal
Folders(1).pst - but I have no contact data there.

Gotta get this fixed

You've been told how.

Same thing.
