How to block file download

Dear all,

I have some computer for children. Now I want some free
program that can prevent the downloading file in browser. I have find
some program like allowblock, but it needs charge. I believe someone
must write free program to do this simple task. But I cannot find it.
Please suggest some free program for me to stop the children
downloading file.

Turn off the internet , turn back on when you need it .

I installed a Netgear USB WiFi unit for someone with children.

When they want the children to access the Internet the USB device is plugged in.

When they are done, the USB WiFi device is un-plugged.

There are parental control applications as well as full Firewall appliances where you can
uses their rules.

One can NOT expect everything to be "free".

There's probably a recipe out there somewhere.

And Firefox, recent versions, should respect the security settings
that Internet Explorer uses.

So you may be able to set this up, without using a program.

But face it - kids are smart, and in less than ten minutes,
they'll find a way around this.

Possible workaround would be to specify a non-existent folder:


http://www.trishtech.com/internet/set_default_download_folder_for_internet_explorer.php


If you need to download something, simply create the folder you specify.


Note: kids are pretty savvy and may be able to figure this out
but should work for the very young ones
