How see only last set of changes

J

John

Word 2003 on WinXP.

A friend and I work together to write a document ....

(a) I make my changes and then send the document to her.
(b) She makes her changes and sends the document to me.
(c) Etc.

TRACK CHANGES is set on. When I use view MARKUP, I see all the changes
ever made to the document. That is far too much, especially if we have
already passed it between us 7 or 8 times.

How can I see ONLY the last set of changes? (I want to see only the
changes made by my friend the last time before sending me the document).

Is there a way in VIEW MARKUP/TRACK CHANGES which lets me see only the
revisions made by the last person?

Or would LEGAL BLACKLINE be the way to do this? If so, then do we need
to TRACK CHANGES in order to use LEGAL BLACKLINE?

The simple solution is to ACCEPT ALL CHANGES before you start edit, then
send the document back for further editing. If the other user then does the
same, you will only ever see one set of changes.

Presumably you have a copy of the document before you sent it to your
friend. Make a copy, and accept all the changes in that document
(Original document). Then make a copy of the document of the one she
recently sent to you. Accept all the changes in that document (Revised
document). Then use the Compare and Merge feature of Word to compare the
two copies of the documents. That will provide a legal blackline version
of only the most recent changes.
