How get the computers communicate in XP?

My switch is now installed, XP-firewalls are switched on in both computers,
everything works absolutely perfect. I have by the way a pretty fast adsl-
connection - 19 Mbits/second! Our swedish telephone company have this -
"up to 24 Mbits/sec" but I have about 2 Kilometers to the station therefore
the 19 Mbits/sec. But it is a real pleasure to work with that speed.
