When I start certain programs, I hear the Network Attached Storage device
(NAS - network hard drive) spin up. These programs are supposed to be
running completely on my machine. I can't find any thing in the programs
that would have access to the NAS. How do I find out which part of a
program is accessing the NAS?

Some example programs are Windows Media Player and Rosetta Stone.

Thanks,
Brett Romero

I have no experience with Rosetta Stone - so maybe someone else can help
with that. Media Player will search all your drives for music files unless
you tell it not to do so. What version of MP are you using? In WMP10, you
can go to Tools - Options - Library - Click on Monitor Folders and then
remove any folders you don't want WMP to search in. My guess is that WMP is
searching your network storage when it starts up.
