how draw elbow lines?

I want to draw a line that has 90 degree bends in it,
very much like the elbow connector. I don't want to use
an elbow connector because I want to be able to put the
ends where I want them to go, not attached to only 4
possible sites on an object. Anyone know how to do this
without drawing individual line segments?

Liam,

Autoshapes > lines > freeform (or polygon).

Make sure you have the snap on grid switched on (it's buried on the draw menu)

Then draw away. Double click to finish drawing the line

Holding down the "shift" key is pretty useful for straight lines and lines at 15 degrees

Right click "edit points" to edit stuff....or just re-size what you have drawn to make it fit up to your text boxes.

You may need to "send to back" (again on the draw menu) to hide the lines behind boxes if you're not that tidy drawing
them

Thanks. I tried this before, and the mistake I made was
that I kept the mouse button pressed, which makes a
scribble. A click, or shift-click, at each vertex will
draw nice straight lines.
