How does IE resolve hostname on 64bit OS

1. open http://localhost/default.htm with IE
2. input http://<hostname>/default.htm
On 32bit OS, check the IIS log. The requests are from 127.0.0.1 and
configured IP
separately.
while on 64bit os, the requests are both from 127.0.0.1

why?
