How do you update firmware on E616P2 DVD?

I can't seem to get the .exe file from Asus to update my E616P2 DVD. I
get this error message: "Drive name does not match". It is an OEM
drive that I got from Newegg.

Having a difficult time finding someone who can help me.

There was some issue with exactly which IDE cable and position
(master or slave connector) the drive is connected. The flasher
reads the drive info as either 2.0 or Z.0 (letter "zed").

To be honest with you, why should a user have to put up with
products like this ? Return it, and get your money back.
Asus has had plenty of time to fix the flasher issue.

This thread is about the original drive, and your model could
be different in some. But the problem remains the same.

Procedure:

ONE hard-drive set as Master on primary IDE (0).
DVD set as Master on secondary IDE (1).
Both at end of cables.
Nothing else connected on both.

If it's the proper v. it should flash.

:)<])>Have fun with the "lettering" afterwards if more than these normally
in system. (Control Panel/System Management/etc).
