I am trying to apply for a job. The employer wants me to paste my resume. I
tried doing it, but it didn't work. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I
also had one employer that wanted me to upload it. I was able to retrieve the
title but never saw the whole resume appear, is this normal.

When they as you to paste in your resume, they don't mean in Word doc
format, but rather in plain text format. To get that, you can open
your Word doc and hit Ctrl + A to select all. Then hit Ctrl + C to
copy it. Nothing will appear to have happened, but it'll go to the
clipboard.

See this article for more info...

Then click Start > Run and type NOTEPAD into the Run input box and
hit enter. This will open the plain text editor...Notepad.

Hit Ctrl + V to paste your resume into notepad. Depending on the
formatting you have applied to the Word doc version, you will probably
have a lot of clean up to do. No formatting will be allowed. So work
on it until you have a plain text document.

Save that and when needed, you can copy the content from that file and
paste it into a web site to provide them with the info they need. Most
sites don't care about the format since they run resumes through a
computer program that picks out key words and only those are viewed
for the info...with little concern about formatting.

As for the one who wanted you to upload...there is not NORMAL when it
comes to what sites want. If they had a limit to the site, maybe much
of your resume was truncated (chopped off). You'll have to read the
site and pay attention to what's going on to see if there is a size
limit.

Good luck...
