how do I xfer .doc to .pdf?

I created a flyer in Word 2003 and went to upload it to a print shop for
professional printing. They told me they don't support .doc files and that I
have to transfer my file to a pdf file.

How do I save my .doc file to a pdf file?

You need a PDF conversion utility. For a one-off you can get it converted on
line, or you could download one of the freebie such as PrimoPDF.
