How do I view the bcc recipients in my sent folder

G

Guest

HOW can I see the BCC field (and addresses) in my SENT e-mails folder?

The only fields that I have, are TO and CC. BCC is not shown. Can't find a
resolve anywhere, incluidng Microsoft Knowledge Base.

If I EXPAND the message (double click) THEN I can see the field, but ONLY if
I OPEN the message.

Thanks in anticipation of your help.

Robert??

Sorry mate, I don't think you've answered the question/understood my
explanation :-(

I compose a mail, and the TO, CC and BCC fields are visible. I enter the
fields.
I send the mail.
I look at the mail in my SENT mail folder, and the only headings shown is
(are) the TO field, and the CC field. The BCC field is NOT shown.
If I then double click the SENT e-mail, the mail expands, and it is only
THEN that I can see the contents of the BCC field (and the BCC heading).

Cheers.

Anyone else?? :)

Hmm ... i guess he did, but here's the detailed procedure:
goto the SENT ITEMS folder, rightclick anywhere in the field headers,
choose FIELD CHOOSER in the context menu, select ALL MAIL FIELDS list and
from there you click&drag the BCC field to the position on the fiels header
row you want. it's indicated by 2 red arrows...

Mmm. Thanks Aligator BUT....

Not the one I'm looking for :-(

I was aware of what you are saying, and tried that. It DOES show the BCC
HEADING of the fields, as you state.

Still not the right answer!

I am 100% certain I had the functionality I speak of, prior to a .pst
problem (sorted)

Let me try and picture the scene..

Microsnot Outlook
In front of "you" you have ALL your sent e-mails listed
The headers show To: Subjest: Sent: etc

If you then look at one of your e-mails, by highlighting (NOT opening) it
you should see The SUBJECTof the e-mail, WHICH account you sent it from,
WHO you sent it TO, and who you CC'd it to. It does not show who you BCC'd it
to. THAT is the part I am looking for.
True enough one can double click the mail header, which will OPEN the mail
and THEN show who it was BCC'd to, but ONLY if the mail is opened.

Try it. Send yourself an e-mail, from your Aligator account, with subject
"Test", cc to yourself, and bcc to yourself.
Have a look at your SENT mail folder, and you will find.
Subect = Test
Aligator account (will show where you sent it from))
cc will show your mail address again (as you cc'd yourself)
bcc will not be present. (although you had bcc'd yourself

If you then OPEN the mail, it is only THEN that you will see the bcc'd
addresses

As stated at the opening, I am SURE I had this before (where the bcc COULD
be seen BEFORE opening the mail)

Cheers

Open your sent items folder, right click the column headers and choose "field chooser". Select "All Mail Fields" and drag the bcc field to your column headers.

Thanks Scott,

BUT.... Still not the correct answer, I'm afraid :-(
If you have a look at Alligators reply, and my response to that, you will
note that he has given the same reply as yourself, but that is still not the
correct answer :-(

If I understand your question, you are asking how to view the BCC field
without opening the message. The correct answer is Outlook does not do that.
Never has. Not sure why you think it did, but then of course you failed to
provide any relevant information, such as your Outlook version, the view you
are using, and how you customized that view--all in play.
Answers were correct. Open the message. Your question's assumptions were not
correct.

Russ,

With respect I would suggest you READ the thread(s) ESPECIALLY my response
to Alligator (4/18/2007 10:13 AM PST), where this FULLY explains the view I
am using! (Smell the coffee!). You have quoted "but then of course you failed
to
provide any relevant information, such as your Outlook version, the view you
are using..". I HAVE FULLY explained the view I am using! granted I have NOT quoted the Outlook version I have (which is Outlook 2003, 11.5608.5606).
Further on in that very same mail I have stated "As stated at the opening, I
am SURE I had this before (where the bcc COULD be seen BEFORE opening the
mail), and I still maintain that fact.
The other guys have offered an ALTERNATIVE (show the column), but this is
not what I was looking for, reference my previous thoughts (I am SURE etc). I
still maintain my thoughts, that it COULD be seen, along with the To, and CC
indicators (Not column headers).

Thanks for your comments though, and I am sure you thought you were being
constructive, but it appeared you hadn't read the full thread.

Cheers

Wonder why you seem to be the only one who has ever seen this behavior?
Probably because your description changes each time and remains unclear.
Clarify what you mean. Highlighting an email without opening it displays it
in the reading pane.
Again, what view are you asking about? Are you asking about the reading
pane?
