How do I use downloaded design templates???

I use the 2003 version of Powerpoint and I have no idea where the design
templates are saved (searched unsucessfully and "save as" does not work
either) and when I press "format" the menu on the right side pops up wiht no
trace of the
downloaded design...

It is quiet easy to copy 8 pages, but that will not solve the basic problem
I actually have...

If theres anybody out there with the information I need, please help...
