How do I turn Refresh (F9) on?

For some reason, the Refresh feature under "View" is greyed out and does not
work. When new mail arrives, it no longer shows immediately upon arrival in
the Inbox. The number of new messages in the Inbox shows next to the Inbox
folder, but in order to get them to show, I have to switch to a different
folder and then back to the Inbox. This just started and I have no idea why.
I've using MS Office for as long as it's been out and I consider myself a
power user, but this one has me stumped.

Any ideas? Thanx,

M

Milly, forgive me if I'm missing something, but how does "You cannot receive
new e-mail notifications in environments that use the Network Address
Translation in Outlook 2002" fix my problem of a greyed out/disabled Refresh
(F9) in Outlook 2007? And why did this just start? It's like someone
inadvertently switched it off.

Thanx,

The symptoms you describe are fixed by that article, specifically that new
mail does not appear until you switch folders.
