You're not alone!
Create a file named hosts. (text-only, no extension) under
the Windows directory, and point all the pop-up site
addresses to a bogus IP address, like in the example
below. If you run a web site on your own computer, replace
127.0.0.1 with any other bogus IP address, such as
192.168.99.99, or even 1.1.1.1.
THis will not stop the pop-up windows from showing up, but
it'll prevent any content from loading. I can send you a
longer compilation of addresses, if youre interested. You
can get the address of the annoying site even when the pop-
up window doesn't show the address bar, by pressing CTRL-N
inside that window -- a new Internet Explorer will open
with the same content and the address bar active.
Or, if you prefer to replace Microsoft fluff with Netscape
fluff, the new Netscape browser has a setting to block pop-
ups.
