How do I stop elipses (...) I type from being automatically repla.

When I type elipses (...) in an email in Outlook it is always automatically
replaced by a bold vertical line symbol. It almost looks like a bold "l",
but is obviously not. If I insist on typing it over and over, sometimes I
can make the elipses stay.

Is this a function of the Auto Correct?

How do I stop this???

Depends on whether you are using Outlook's new-mail editor or Word as
the new-mail editor. If Outlook's then the navigation to the option is
probably different for different versions of Outlook. You did not
mention WHICH version of Outlook that you are using.

If using Outlook's new-mail editor and if using Outlook 2002, go look at
Tools -> Options -> Spelling -> AutoCorrect. Disable the "replace as
you type" option or delete the ellipsis entry.

If you are using Word as the new-mail editor, ask in a Word newsgroup on
how to configure that product. If you are using Outlook 2007, you are
forced to use Word as the new-mail editor.

Yes, that could be a function of AutoCorrect. Have you checked your
AutoCorrect entries.

Where all depends on your Outlook version and (if pre-2007) if you are using
Word or Outlook as the email editor.
