HOW DO I STOP AUTOMATED COPYING OF FOLDERS IN MY DOCUMENTS

I created new folders in My Documents. When I go to My Documents, WORD
automaticaly has created multiple copies of the same folders. I have tried
to delete these copies, however, when I return to My Documents they reappear
and increase. How do I permanetly delete these copies and prevent this
problem in the future?

This does not sound like normal Word behavior. Can you give an example and
the steps to reproduce it? I've never seen anything like that in Word. Also,
what version of Word and what operating system are you using?

I am using Windows/xp pro and Office 2003. Example: I created a folder named
"Mutual 20B" in My Documents. I exited My Documents, when I returned there
were "Copy (2) Mutual 20B" It was repeated several times for Copy (2), Copy
(3), etc. This occurred for each of the 5 folders I created today. I
deleted them and exited My Documents when I returned they reappeared and
there more copies. I deleted them several times without success.

This is a new one on me...I've never heard of this happening, and it likely
will take some detective work to try to figure out why it's happening.

Are you creating the folder using Word (i.e., in the Open or Save dialog)?

When the folder gets copied, do the contents get copied as well? Or, are new
empty folders being created?

If you open Windows Explorer and monitor the process, can you see exactly
when the copies are being made so you can perhaps associate their creation
with something you are doing?

*How* did you create the folders?
