How do I stop a repeating email recall message

I am using Office 2003. I erroneously sent an email and then used the
Outlook feature to recall the message. A person I sent the orginal message
to says that every time they open their email they get another "recall"
message from me. They say it has happened a dozen times now. Any ideas how
to stop this -- which is obviously annoying my friend. Thanks
