How do I stop a program's starup process?

Hello :)

Here's an example of what I'm talking about. Sometimes when running
programs(s) that use a good bit of processing power, I'll go away from my
comp for just over three minuites, the time my chreensaver is set to kick in
and when I return, the screensaver won't have started up yet because of the
how other program(s) using a good bit of processing power slows down the
startup process.

The problem is that when I start using my comp again, the screensaver
*insists* on finishing its startup process before it lets the auto shutoff
kick in.

My question is how do I get any program, not just screensavers, to interrupt
a process *now* instead of finishing it first?

Ctrl>Alt>Delete

Select Process Tab

Select Process

Select "End Process"

Not entirely sure what you are after here, most apps have settings to
prevent auto start., if not get Spybot S&D and use the advanced mode
tools to disable autostart apps.
