How do I sort fields chronologically not alphabetically?

In Outlook 2003 Contacts , when adding children's names to the Children
field, how do you enter children's names so that they remain in descending
order chronologically. I enter them this way, but when I Save & Close the
Contact window & re-visit the Contact, Outlook puts the childrens name in
alphabetical order NOT in chronological order.

Outlook has no option to change that built-in behavior. You might want to make a note in the body of the contact item.

Thank you Sue for your reply. What intrigues me is that the contents of some
of the Children fields in my Contacts do remain in the order in which they
were typed. e.g. Naomi (Roy), Megan (Tom). I think I entered these details
when I had Outlook 2000 Windows 98 SE. However, when I create a new Contact
in Outlook 2003 Windows XP Home & enter the same details, it changes the
order to Megan (Tim), Naomi (Raden). I have tried numbering the children e.g.
1Naomi(Roy), 2Megan(Tom).Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.I think I
will enter children & their birthdays in the Notes part of the Contact as you
suggested.
