How do I show the server option on my tools menu for Frontpage 20.

Frontpage 2002
I'm trying to restrict access to specific users on a subweb. The "Help" menu
directs me to go to Tools, Server to update/change access to any given page.
The menu selection "Server" is dimmed and not available. I verified with my
Hosting company that I'm on a server supporting Frontpage extensions. Where
do I go from here to get access to this function?

Are you connected directly to your published web on your host's server or
are you working on a local copy. You must be connected directly to the web
server you wish to set permissions for in order for it to work. Also, your
account must be an administrator account for that web, otherwise you cannot
perform these actions. Your host may not have you set as an administrator
or, they can even have the permissions feature disabled if they choose even
if you are an administrator

Hope this helps,

Hi Mark,
I am experincing the same problem, however your directions don't really make
much sense to a novice like myself! :) How do connect directly to the
published web on the Host's (microsoft for me)? How do i also know that i am
set as the administrator account for the web?

thanks for your time!

Only possible if your host supports the FP SE
File Open Site and enter the site URL as http://www.yoursitename.com
