How do i set up a Style in Word 2003 that uses Highlight?

just wondering if there is a way to use fill color or highlighter in a style
would help me alot as i tend to use bold and highlight in my notes alot

Word won't let you include highlighting in a style, but you can
include shading (as in Format > Borders and Shading) in either a
paragraph style or a character style.

I suggest you define a character style, so you can choose to
"highlight" less than a full paragraph.

To do this, click the New button, choose the style's name and type,
then click the Format button and select Border. Go to the Shading tab
and select the color you want. Of course, this can be in addition to
other formatting.

Thanks For your swift reply

Just for anyone else interested I found a way to Create a Style with the
fill color or shading as well you just have to select Character Style instead
of Paragraph then it will allow you to add shading.

Thanks again for pointing me in right direction :)

Paragraph styles can also include shading, but what you want in this case is
a character style.
