how do I set up a chart using data ?

I am having trouble figuring out how to set up a chart using two different
data types. I want to plot the sunrise and sunset as lines according to date.
The area inbetween the two lines will be the total amount of sunlight in the
day. Excel will not let me format the chart the way I imagine it to be
(x-axis is date and y-axis is time).

Suppose your dates are in col. A starting with A2, the sunrise times in
B and the sunset times in C.

Ensure A1 is empty (if it is not delete the current content and put it
back later). This makes one of the steps below much simpler.

Click anywhere in the data range and then select the Chart Wizard.
Select a Line chart. The default chart will have dates at the bottom
and one line connecting the sunrise times with another connecting the
sunset times.

Double-click one of the plotted series and from the Patterns tab set
the Line to None.

Double-click the other series. From the Patterns tab set the Line to
None. From the Options select either High-Low lines or Up-Down Bars.

Double-click whichever item item you chose. Format as desired.

If you deleted the contents of A1, put it back now.
