How do I send reply messages from outbox?

I have the same problems being discussed. Running Outlook 2003 on WinXP
professional. When replying to messages, I click on Send, the message goes
to the outbox and sits. It is not italicized. Clicking in the message and
then on send will close the message again, but will not italicize it, and of
course it will not transmit. I do not get an error message -- the reply just
doesn't leave the outbox

The only work around I have figured out is to compose a new message,
readdress it and resend. Newly composed messages transmit normally, so it is
not a SMTP problem.

Try turning off any Outlook addins that you may have installed. This
problem seems to be related to some addins...
