How do I send bulk email using email addresses from Access field?

We have an Access database with a field containing email addresses. We want
to send an email to all these addresses (using Outlook). How do I do it?

Sarah,

I have not been able to this with Outlook, but have used WorldMerge
(www.coloradosoft.com) with great success--as long as I remember to turn off
my antivirus software before sending the bulk email.

I believe you can also accomplish this in a Word mail merge, but I haven't
tried it yet.

I have got around it by doing a Word mail merge (directory) and then copying
and pasting the results into the recipient field in Outlook. I just thought
that there might be a more straightfoward way.

It appears that Word 2002's Mail Merge wizard will allow you to create and
send the emails directly, without any cutting and pasting. As I said, I
haven't done this yet, so I can't say for sure. I can say that WorldMerge is
very good at extracting information from Access tables and queries, so you
can automatically insert the email address in the To: box and personalize the
message, if desired. I have even sent out members dues statements for an
organization including all of each individual's database information for
corrections. WorldMerge connects directly to your ISP, so you don't have to
use Outlook at all.
