how do I save documents to a .asc extension

I used to have this choice in my older version of Word, however it seems the
..asc extension is not on my dropdown menu when I choose the "save as". I need
to have this to import word documents into my AutoCad program.

You can download the old MS-DOS Text with Layout converter for Word from my
web site. It will still work, albeit with security warnings.

we are working with a surveying software which uses AutoCAD 2004 as its
driver, when I use the software to import word documents I have written, it
only allows me to import those which have a asc. extension

Hmm, do you and Suzanne not see Graham's initial posting in this
thread, referring to "the old MS-DOS Text with Layout converter for
Word from my web site"? The MS interface seems to be getting worse and
worse (while google groups plods successfully along).

Many of us read in an NNTP newsreader with the "Hide Read Messages" setting.
When a user both changes the subject line AND fails to quote any of the
previous content, the message appears to be new, unconnected, and cryptic.
