How do I save 2003 Outlook msgs to hard drive in non-pst format?

I must save all client email correspondence but have to clean out my Outlook
folders. How can I save the messages to the C-drive, perferably in specific
folders within My Documents, as something other than .pst? Word doc or text
would be best.

If you drag and drop your e-mails to your hard drive, they will save as .msg
files by default. If you open each one (tedious), you can select Save As
and select a .txt format as well as the destination folder.

Why not just archive them locally? That won't affect your mailbox quota and
you can still open them in Outlook.

Why would you want to save it in non-Outlook format?
