You can download the free utility Restoration from: http://jon.swelter.net/rest2514/
You also need the dll files. Download them in the same place and run it you
don`t have to install it before. It's easy and fast.
A very useful tool. If you don't like the site search with google and you'l
find another places to download it.

hi, thanks alot for all the help, that little application is very usefull, i couldnt find the excel files i was looking for but there were thousands of files in there so maybe i didnt know what i was looking fo
i tried a preview version of an online application called RECOVER MY FILES ( http://esd.element5.com/product.html?productid=179749&languageid=1 ) which seems very powerfull and recovered everything, but when i looked at the preview versions of the files id recovered for the excel stuff, only part of the info/worksheets were there so maybe thats about as good as i can get! still enabled me to write down a lot of invaluable numbers which id thought id lost (for free, cheers recover my files!)
