how do I resolve double entry of email address in email accounts

when I try to use outlook I have to go into email accounts\ email
settings\logon information\username and change it from

([email protected]\[email protected]) to (e-mail address removed)

and then goto incoming mail server and change the setting from (local
host) to (pop.tiscali.co.uk)

It keeps giving me that double entry in the user name and incoming mail
server how do I fix this problem?

Hi! it happens mainly when when I open Outlook for the first time but some times it will occur when I try to send an email.

I am using outlook 2003. I was originally using Outlook 2000 but I started
getting thisproblem and so microsoft advised me to change to 2003 which I did
I still have the problem.
so far I have reinstalled Outlook, win XP and office. I have deleted my
accounts but nothing seems to work.
Thanks for responding

Disable in your virus scanner scanning incoming/outgoing mails!

what anti virus solution are you using? curious to know if it helped.

if you are using that machine for private purpose, i would recommend AVG
Antivirus (www.grisoft.com / free.grisoft.de for download). this one is
free for personal use and i made very good experience with it,
especially together with outlook 2003.

Also go to your User Information in your account. Make sure it's your name &
not your email address or 2 email addresses. In your account list, name the
acct something other than your server address--the default. I think your
profile has your email address as your display name, plus your email address.
Check your own entry in contacts, especially the Display As box.
