How do I remove white borders from Powerpoint slide

I have inserted a jpeg image into a ppt slide but even though it looks on
screen as if it goes to each edge, when in print preview or when it's
printed, there is a narrow white border at each side of the portrait slide
and a wider one top and bottom. How do I remove this, so that my picture
covers the page?

What your looking at are more than likely the default printer margins. Most
printers cannot print right to the edge of the paper.
