how do I receive messages only at set intervals?

Is there a way to set up Outlook so that incoming messages are onlly
delivered to me either at sent intervals or when I choose to have them
delivered?

I don't want them delivered to me every time I send messages either.

Is this possible?

Press Alt-Ctrl-S to bring up the Send/Receive Group dialogue. Set your
send/receive interval there. Click Tools>Options>Mail Setup and uncheck
"Send immediately when connected".
