How do I print in poster mode

How do I print in poster mode so I can have, say, 6 pages making up one
image? I can see only 4 pages max--but I have done it before with up to 9
pages!

You haven't done it with Word! Word has no ability to tile documents across
several pages to make one large banner. Try Publisher.
If however you want more than one page printed on a single page - you can
set the number of pages per sheet from the print dialog.

Some printer drivers also offer an option to tile documents across more than
one sheet (usually the word "poster" will be associated with this option).
