How do I position text, or a word, in the middle of a horizontal line?
Specifically a line that would cut right through the middle of a word if it
kept going, but it breaks for the word. Kind of like this example:

-------------- Hello -------------

But without the dashes. I need a solid line. Thanks for your help.

You could set up a centre aligned tab and one on the right margin with
leaders and then to get the line at mid-height of the word, use and
{Advance} field.

Sorry I'm kind of new, but I don't know how to set up a centre aligned tab,
don't know what leaders are, and don't know what {Advance} field means. If
it's not too much trouble, could you expand on your previous email. Thanks
for your response.

Have you tried looking up these terms in Word Help?

Actually, Suzanne Barnhill gave you step by step instructions in other place
where you posted this, so go check there. It's the same concept.
