How do i open MS Excel(Office XP) with macros in office 2000?

I had a macro running in MS Excel Office XP. When i run it in MS Office 2000,
the macro don't seem to run. I've tried to save the Excel(Office XP) file to
a lower version, but the macro still does not run after it is saved in a
lower version. Is there a compatibility problem? & what should i do?

What doesn't run? Is there an error? It should not have issues so long as
you are not using any Excel 2002 features that 2000 knew nothing about, like
tab colours, images in headers, etc
