How do I open copied Notes and Contacts on a new computer?

I recently copied all of my notes and contacts from my laptop. When I tried
to opem them back up on my new desktop the file failed to open. The old
files were in Outlook 2003. My new system is using 2007. How do I open the
files?

"Failed to open" means what? Any error message?
The usual procedure is to copy the PST file to the "other" machine, open it
using File | Open, display the folders you want to copy from in table views
then use drag and drop to copy them to your main folders.
