How do I open a word document when forgotten password?

I know it's daft and I can't remember why I did it, but I recently changed
the password to one of my Word documents and now can't remember it! Is there
any way of retrieving this document? Many thanks.

There is not an easy way to retrieve it. If you google this probem, there are
companies that sell products to retrieve passwords.

Ya know, there's no way I'd hand my card number over to a company that can
hack passwords. Call me silly but that's a scary thought.
