The Page numbering text box and footer text box appear on the Master Slide
image which is kinda like a picture behind your slide contents. If you have
any object covering the background (like an image) then the page numbers
will not show thru. So you should...
1) Check on the master slide to make sure that the textboxes are visible and
on top of any images.
2) Check the slides to make sure that nothing is covering the page numbering
area.
