How do I make Administrator and available logon choice?

I just purchases a new Sony Viao notebook and can't get Administrator to
show up as an available logon choice in the Welcome screen of Windows XP Pro
(Service Pack 1).

When I set up the computer for the first time, I gave Administrator a
password and define one additional userid (let's call that one ABCXYZ for
purposes of this conversation).

When I boot the computer, instead of showing me the Welcome screen with a
choice of Administrator or ABCXYZ like my old computer does, the new
computer automatically logs onto userid ABCXYZ.

Sony Tech support claims that Administrator only shows up in Safe mode boot
situations (which I found to be the case with the new laptop). However,
since my old computer offers a choice of Administrator and two additional
Power users, I know there must be a way to make the new laptop act the same
way as the old desktop computer.

Is there a registry hack or some other tweak that I can do to force the
Welcome screen to show me all users (two in this case)? I've look
everywhere (My Computer/Properties, Control Panel/Administrative Options).

That works, but it required two steps.

1. Adding the following key to the Registry:
System Key: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows
NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\
SpecialAccounts\UserList]
Value Name: Administrator
Data Type: REG_DWORD (DWORD Value)
Value Data: (1 = show Administrator)

2. blank out the autologon userid.

I only wish Sony's tech support people were aware of this.
