How do I install a new video driver for nvidia?

Uninstall the previous video driver. Reboot the computer. The screen might
have a different resolution but you will be able to see what you are doing.
Install the newer version of the video driver. Make sure your ant-virus
software is disabled for this installation.

Good Luck

I just finished downloading the latest Nvidia video driver. The website
said to completely uninstall the older version before installing the new one
or else....well something won't install correctly. WHAT is going to happen
between then and installing the new driver? Will uninstalling the video
driver not make it impossible to view the monitor?
I've already made a restore point if things don't go so swell.
Thanks for any wisdom, Ivan

When you uninstall the older driver Windows will use default or generic
drivers therefore allowing you to see the screen and install new drivers.
