How do I insert video into Frontpage so that the sound is in sync?

I have tried to embed a video clip into a web page, but the video is jumpy
and the sound is out of sync. Is there some way to have make the video wait
to play in the browser after it has completely downloaded?

How are you embeding a video clip into the page? Are you using the
standard Flash Embed?

Is the sound out of sync and video jumpy on every machine you try
playback on?

I am actually embedding the video file using the FP "insert" selection on the
drop down menu.
It plays fine when I view it on my hard drive. Could it be too big? Is there
a way to have the video wait to play after it has all downloaded? How about
streaming? What format is used for streaming? it's in avi right now.

Does the video play well when opened directly on your computer? How big is
the file and what type of encoding are you using? Also, can you post a
sample URL? Usually there isn't much you can do because the user's video
player for that format defines how it should download the file. AVI files
are usually big, and not suitable for streaming usually. Re-encode the files
in a streaming media format using RealNetworks realvideo encoder (don't have
a url other than http://www.real.com/) or the Windows Media encoder at
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/9series/encoder/default.aspx

Hope this helps,

You could take the AVI and convert it to FLASH format. You could do a
progressive download (as close to streaming as you can get if you don't
have a streaming server). It will cut the size of the AVI down a lot.
We used to take 5 minute videos (203 MB) avi's and convert it to flash,
and it would only be between 4-6 MB. A lot more friendly than the
origional size.

Plus you can embed flash files directly into your html pages, or design
or download a player template.

See this example: (note this link must reamain one big link) If this
post seperates it, you must put it back as one link in your
web-browser)
