How do i insert images ?

i cant insert images into database records.

i am using access-97 on a windows-98 computer (not on a
network).

following the instructions in a (how-to-use-access)
book .. i created a new database .. i created a new table
with a table element (photo) .. data-type = ole-object.

when i try to insert an image into a form record (or table
record) .. i get an error 2753.

a problem occurred while access was communicating with the
ole server.

i did a total install of office-97 .. except for binders
and outlook.

i searched the microsoft knowledge base and tried the fix
suggested in article 180313 (a related problem) .. but it
did not solve the problem.

i even tried to insert (.jpg) images into database records
in the (employee) table of the (northwind) database that
is included with access .. same error message.

any suggestions ?
