How do I insert a photo into a shape?

I seem to recall that you can insert a photo into a PowerPoint drawing shape
and have it conform to the shape.

I can't remember how to do this. I have PowerPoint 2003

Select the shape, right click, select Format AutoShape. On the Colors and
Lines tab, click the drop down arrow for fill. Select "More options", then
click the picture tab. Navigate to your picture and ok your way out. The
autoshape will be centered on the background of the chosen picture.

Select the object and then click on the Fill icon (looks like a paint bucket)
and go to Fill Effects > Picture.
