How do I import outlook contacts/messages to windows mail?

After replacing my computer, the VISTA mail feature did not allow uploading
my outlook contacts nor any mail folders. I can see my old HD, however, when
I try to run programs it requires the original program to be reinstalled. I
tried to change the boot sequence so that the new machine would boot from the
old drive, however, that did not work. I have never located a .pst file
relating to either roadrunner.com or adelphia.net even though I had saved
lots of mail.

Rallf,

Try reading this: http://www.slipstick.com/config/backup.asp
You must search in hidden folders to find the pst file. On the new system if
should decide to install Outlook, place the pst in a folder within
Documents. It will get backed up when you back up Documents (depending on
Vista version)

Thanks for the reply, however, being fairly new to Windows Vista (yesterday)
it appears to be masking the files. I looked further in the file, but no
answer. May have to resort to repairing my old computer and reinstalling the
hard drive to get my old mail.
