How do I import Adobe Illustrator files in Frontpage

I am only able to import .gif and .tif files on my frontpage. How do I import
an adobe illustrator file?

You need to save your illustrator files as GIF or JPG and import that into
your web.

You can't use a 'raw' illustrator file or any other 'raw' image file (the
file size would be huge). You need to use the 'save for the web' (or
similar)option in Illustrator to export to a file format that is displayable
on the web eg gif, jpg (illustrator files wouldn't usable or viewable unless
the user had illustrator themselves).

In addition to Andrew's advice, unless they are for downloading,
convert your .tiff files to .gif or .jpg. .tiff files will not
display in all browsers, and are huge. Same applies to .bmp and .wmf
files if you are tempted to use those.

Andrew,
When I save my Adobe Illustrator file as a .gif it changes the picture.. I
am trying to put a picture on a dark background and not have a white outline,
but when I change it to a gif it puts a white border around it.. Does
Frontpage 2003 or any other version other than Frontpage 2002 have the
ability to insert an adobe illu.??

Thanks for all your help

There is no version of FrontPage that could be considered an image
editor/converter. You will have to use Adobe Illustrator to generate
the .gif or .jpg.
You can import the illustrator file into any version of FrontPage and
make a link to it, however any user will need to have Illustrator
installed in order to see it.

Sorry, I don't use Illustrator - my answer was based on my basic knowledge
of Photoshop Elements - which has a "save for web" type function, which I
assumed Illustrator should have as well.

Illustrator does that sometimes. Save it as a jpg or gif then open it in an
image editor and crop the outline out and resave.
