How do I get the New Windows XP policies into my 2000 Domain?

Every where I look I see people saying to edit the GP on the Domain
COntroller from a Windows XP machine and, from what I understand it will
upgrade that way... but Nothing seems to work.

Can anyone give me some advice on how to get started with this?. Windows
2003 made Group Policies too easy :)

Here are the steps, at one point I get lost.

"5. In the Select Group Policy Object dialog box, Local Computer appears as
the target object. Click Browse, select the GPO that you want to upgrade, and
then click OK. "

When I select the GPO I want to upgrade, I don't know what I should be
selecting. I can only select Computers correct? I select my DC, but it
doesn't seem to change anything when I browse through the options. My
network at this location contains 3 DCs, would I have to do this on the
primary one?

Click Start, click Run, type mmc, and then click OK.
2. On the File menu, click Add/Remove Snap-in.
3. In the Add/Remove Snap-in dialog box, click Add.
4. In the Add Standalone Snap-in dialog box, click Group Policy, and then
click Add.
5. In the Select Group Policy Object dialog box, Local Computer appears as
the target object. Click Browse, select the GPO that you want to upgrade, and
then click OK.

Note When you click Browse, a delay might occur while Windows searches for
the policy objects in the domain.
6. Click Close.
7. Click OK.

Log into the domain on a WinXP PC with an account that has sufficient admin
rights to modify policies, install GPMC, and open the policy you wish to
update...
