How do I get the attachment to show as a line (not an icon) below.

In the emails I sent out, I used to have the attachments shown as a line
below the 'Subject' line. After I formatted the drive and restalled
everything, now the attachments shown as an icon at the bottom of the email
body. How do I get it to show as a line below the 'Subject' line again? Any
help will be very much appreciated.

RTF will show attachments inline. HTML and plain text put them in a separate
box.

Hi andreas,
Thank you so much for the help. I got it fixed by changing it to HTML.
Although RTF wasn't the right answer but it pointed me to the right direction
to get it fixed. Thanks again. I really appreciate it.

Sorry about the late reply as I went out of town and had no internet access
since.

Hi Sue,
Thanks a lot for pointing me to the right direction. I got it fixed by
changing it to HTML in Outlook 2003. I'm sorry about the late reply as I was

Hi Terri,
You open Outlook 2003, on the top menu bar, click Tools, then Options in the
drop down box, after it opens the Option box, click the Mail Format tab, in
the first section saying Message Format, click the drop down aero on the line
saying "Compose in this message format" and select the format you want. If
you want the attachmetn showing as a line underneath the subject line, I
think you should select "HTML".

Hope this helps

Terry,
Sorry, I forgot this part: after you make the changes, you must click "O.K."
and close Outlodk, then restart it to have the changes take effect.

You do not need to stop and restart Outlook for that change to take effect.

Actually, RTF is what will show the attachment in the BODY of
the message. I think you probably want to show the message as
HTML or PLAIN TEXT.

Microsoft has a page that explains this with a few pictures:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/help/HA012319531033.aspx

Depending on the format of the message that you receive,
attachments will appear in two different places in the message.

If the message format is HTML or plain text, attachments
will appear in the attachment box below the Subject line.

The format in which a message is composed is indicated in the
title bar at the top of the message.

Your Outlook is set to use the RTF format for creating email.
- Open your TOOLS menu
- Select OPTIONS
- Select the MAIL FORMAT tab

It is in this window that you can change your message format
from RICH TEXT (which is RTF) to HTML or PLAIN text.

How do I change to RTF?
