How do I get "save as not responding" to respond?

When I attempt to save a document, I the save as function won't respond. I've
unstalled and reinstalled word 2003 but tio no avail.

Right-click on the My Computer icon on the Windows desktop,
left-click on Disconnect Network Drive, and disconnect any mapped
drives that are not currently available.
