How are you trying to put this on the remote server?
Does the remote server have the FP extensions?

The remote server does not support FP extensions. The site is currently
maintained by my partner using FP

This error could result from having illegal characters in the file or
folder names.
Legal characters (in a web site) are alpha (A-Z,a-z), numeric (0-9)
and underline and hyphen (_-)
All other characters, including spaces, should be considered as
illegal.

Additionally, some servers impose a length limit on filenames (often
32 characters) and sometimes a limit on folder nesting or even the
number of folders in a website.

Or also likely to be a file starting with a dot (as in .htaccess from a Unix server on a Windows Server that doesn't allow it)
