How do I get Outlook to confirm exit?

I am constantly closing Outlook 2003 in error thinking I am closing an open
email. This has become an extreme inconveinence. Most programs have the
"confirm close" dialog box, Outlook does not have this. Is there a way to
get this box to pop when closing outlook???

Here's a little trick to help with that: Create a message to yourself. Before sending it, click the Options button and check the box for “Do not deliver before.†Make sure the delivery date/time is some time in the future, but the exact date doesn’t really matter. Send that message. Now go to the Outbox and open the message, then close it without resending it. The message should appear in the Outbox in normal type, not italics. Now, as long as that message remains in the Outbox, you'll get a prompt when you close Outlook that items are still in the Outbox (see Figure 3). This will give you the opportunity to say No if you closed Outlook unintentionally and don’t really want it to quit.
